Veronique Vella
Ph.D, B.Mus (Hons), BA, A.T.C.L

Veronique studied music at Edinburgh Napier University after winning two Ian Tomlin Music scholarships. She studied piano with Nicholas Ashton and Peter Evans and went on to perform at many festivals locally and abroad. Since taking up composition with Stephen Davismoon and Ken Dempster in 2005, her music has been performed in the UK, France, Malta, Germany, Austria, Italy and US. Interpreters of her work include The Orchestra of Scottish Opera, The Edinburgh Quartet and members of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra. When she was a student, Veronique went on an exchange to Tampere Conservatory, Finland and attended an electronic music course at CCMIX Studios in Paris. She also holds a Bachelors degree in English and Psychology from the University of Malta but chose to pursue a career in music. Veronique currently works as a freelance teacher, composer, and pianist and lectures at Stevenson College Edinburgh.
