Sharleen Clapperton
GMus (Hons) RNCM
Sharleen comes from Vancouver, Canada where she began studying violin aged five. She studied music in Rome, Manchester (RNCM) and Montreal where she had some wonderful teachers. For the past seventeen years, she has enjoyed passing on her knowledge to students of all ages teaching at Exeter University then for Oxfordshire County Music, privately in Bergen, Norway and now at home, Bruntsfield Primary and PMS. She has performed lots of wacky new music at festivals in the UK, Europe, and Canada, including pieces which have been specially written for her. She now lives in Edinburgh with her husband and two daughters and performs regularly with the Roxburgh Quartet.
- The strangest food I've eaten is sea cucumber
- If I was an animal I'd like to be a koala bear munching on eucalyptus leaves
- My favourite day out in Edinburgh is going out for breakfast then a swim in the sea
- I started to play the violin when I was 5.
Sharleen teaches violin.
