Joshua Seex
BMus (Hons)
Joshua studied music at Edinburgh Napier University where he specialised in performance, composition and jazz studies.
He has taught guitar privately for around 7 years, covering both classical finger (pima) and pick styles, in all genres of music and whilst at university he wrote his own guitar instructional book 'Plectrum Studies for the Serious Guitarist'. He has also taught guitar classes for Bruntsfield Primary School and Edinburgh Music Lessons.
His introduction to the guitar was classical finger style. After hearing Jimi Hendrix he soon took a keen interest in rock and blues, and has since then he's become fascinated with jazz, progressive rock and fusion.
Joshua has played professionally in venues across Scotland such as the Prestonfield House Hotel, the EICC, Shieldhill Castle hotel and the Usher Hall, playing both in a solo guitar context and as part of a function band.
