Heather King
BA (Hons) MSc
Heather started playing clarinet and violin from a young age and took up saxophone in her teens. She studied music at the University of Nottingham and recently completed an MSc in Music in the Community from the University of Edinburgh. The latter course developed her interests in the psychology and neurology of music and gave her the opportunity to work on community music projects and devise music programmes for nursery schools. All of this led to an increased passion for early years music making. During the week, she teaches clarinet, violin and saxophone to her private students in Morningside.
- If I was on X-Factor I'd sing Summertime
- The next instrument I'd like to learn is the double bass
- My favourite day out in Edinburgh is lunch at Henderson’s and a walk up Arthur’s Seat
- I started to play the clarinet when I was 8
Heather is one of our affiliated teachers, teaching recorder, clarinet and saxophone.
