Gordon Turnbull
BA (Hons) PGDE
A traditional musician for 30 years, Gordon teaches music in Primary Schools in Midlothian and leads creative music workshops in East Lothian Primary Schools through the Arts Service. Over the years he has worked with the RSAMD in their MusicWorks outreach programme, Fèisean nan Gàidheal and the Scots Music Group. He also runs his own community classes and workshops and The Flow, a web site for traditional flute players.
A former archaeologist and a graphic designer for many years, his passion for sharing music led him into teaching full-time. He also runs traditional music classes for adults.
Gordon has played in many bands and settings and draws on this rich experience in his workshops. He plays with Irish dance group Absolutely Legless and with Edinburgh bands Cauldstane Slap and The Big Squeeze Ceilidh Band.
