Flute classes at Portobello Music School

Flute

Flute classes are offered to children in Primary 3 and upward. The classes are taught in small groups and aim to establish musical understanding and good habits from the very beginning. Pupils will be expected to practice their instrument for 10-15 minutes at least four times per week. After studying for two years, children will be encouraged to join one of our ensembles and after three years, will be encouraged to begin individual instruction with one of our associate instrumental teachers. We recommend that all children learning instruments attend our Junior Choir and to make it more affordable, we offer a reduction off choir fees.

Please contact us for advice about purchasing/hiring instruments before term begins.

Meet your teacher Catriona and check availability for Saturday.

Clarineo classes at Portobello Music School

Clarinéo

Clarinéo classes are offered to children in Primary 3 and 4. The Clarinéo is a new affordable instrument that provides an ideal stepping stone from recorder to clarinet or as an excellent introduction to clarinet and saxophone for younger children as it requires the same playing technique but is lighter, ideal for smaller fingers and is much more affordable than entry-level clarinets and saxophones.
