Acoustic Guitar

Acoustic guitar classes are offered to children in primary 3 and upward. Classes are taught in small groups and aim to establish musical understanding and good habits from the very beginning. Pupils will be expected to practice their instrument for 10-15 minutes at least four times per week. After studying for one year, children will be encouraged to join one of our guitar ensembles and after two or three years will be offered individual instruction. We recommend that all children learning instruments attend one of our choirs and to make it more affordable, we offer a 40% reduction off choir fees.

Electric Guitar

Electric guitar classes are offered to children in primary 5 and upward. Classes are taught in small groups and aim to establish musical understanding and good habits from the very beginning. Pupils will be expected to practice their instrument for 10-15 minutes at least four times per week. Electric guitar students will be encouraged to join one of our rock/pop ensembles where they will learn to play with singers, keyboard players and drummers of a similar level. Although not compulsory, children will be encouraged to prepare for Rockschool grade exams.

Bass Guitar

We provide individual lessons in bass guitar to children in primary 5 and upward. We teach the Rockschool curriculum and encourage children to sit the grade exams. Bass players are encouraged to join one of our rock/pop ensembles where they will learn to play with singers, guitarists, keyboard players and drummers of a similar level.
